POKÉMON IS SO MUCH MORE THAN A VIDEO GAME. Since its inception in 1996, the brand has produced a slew of films, comics, mobile applications, TV programmes, and retail lines. The Pokémon Trading Card Game, which has a loyal fanbase and receives new upgrades and packs on a regular basis, was one of the first spinoffs of the famous video games.
The card game hasn't always transferred well to video games or mobile apps, despite its continued popularity. The online version of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, which debuted in 2011, was a disaster. With Pokémon Trading Card Game Live, The Pokémon Company is trying once more. Here's all we know about the new app so far.
Pokémon TCG Live enables Trainers to experience the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) in an enhanced digital version. It is meant to make learning how to play the game simple and enjoyable for beginners, while also providing new challenges for experienced players to grow and show their abilities. Players will be able to participate in their favourite Pokémon TCG activities, such as deck building and battling other Trainers from all around the world. They'll be able to personalise their experience with customised avatars and Pokémon TCG accessories, as well as take part in daily missions and other activities.
Pokémon TCG Live will be a free-to-play game, and it will be the first time the Pokémon Trading Card Game has been made available on smartphones, in addition to tablets, PCs, and Macs.
Pokémon Trading Card Game Live Release Date
The Pokémon Company hasn't specified a specific release date for Pokémon TCG Live, just stating that it would be available "soon."
In Canada, the Pokémon Company intends a soft launch for Android and iPhone devices, as well as a global open beta for PC and Mac. Both are expected to happen in the second half of 2021.
Pokémon TCG Live Trailer
You can watch the trailer of Pokemon Trading Card Game Live on the official YouTube channel of The Pokemon Company.
The trailer doesn’t contain many crucial details. A few apparently player-created characters, such as "Gene," "Amy," and Mitch, are seen. It goes on to say that users will be able to play the game on both PC and mobile platforms, and that the game would adhere to the official TCG regulations.
Pokemon TCG Nintendo Switch Release Date
The Pokémon TCG Live game has yet to be revealed for the Nintendo Switch. It is unlikely to be released on consoles. The final Pokémon TCG game to be released on a console was Pokémon Trading Card Game for Game Boy Color, which was released on the Nintendo 3DS virtual platform in 2014. It's unusual enough for a new Pokémon TCG game to be released, but it's rarer for it to be released on consoles.
Don't get your hopes up for Pokémon TCG Live on the Nintendo Switch.
Pokemon Trading Card Game Profile
If you're already a member of Pokémon TCG Online, you'll be allowed to maintain your account when the new game launches. All you have to do now is make sure you use the same Trainer Club account to log into the new game. There are certain restrictions on which cards from your collection can be used.
Except for cards from the HeartGold and SoulSilver series, you'll be able to import everything from Pokémon TCG Online when it launches. Cards from the Black & White series, for example, can be moved, but they will not be playable at launch. The game will support every pack published after November 2018's Lost Thunder set when it first becomes available.
Pokemon TCG Live Game Pass
Unfortunately, Pokémon TCG Live includes a battle pass and other elements found in free-to-play games.
